A burst was yesterday the sports of the town before the arrival of a hundred associations from different parts of the country to participate in the national demonstration artisans work this year, now in its fifth edition.
Once again, the director of the Institute for Women, Teresa Moreno opened the meeting with needlework @ sy lace @ s crafts @ s accompanied by the Mayor of Fuente Alamo, Maria Antonia Conesa, and the councilors of Women and Culture, Isabel M ª Maribel Gomez and Martinez, respectively.
Throughout the entire day, women and men participants developed hemstitching table linen, lace, shuttle, macramé crafts, jewelry and all kinds of handicrafts made with materials and techniques as old as the "needle swift" hook or esparto.
This year, in addition, for the first time the Group Source Blonda Alamo has participated in this meeting in order to acquaint the new generation of lace makers in the municipality: girls between 7 and 18.
After tasting a giant paella, the Association of Women in Fuente Alamo was presented with diplomas and gifts to all participating associations.
