"Thermae"

Esteban Bernal presented Friday, Oct. 2, at 20.30 hours, until the 25th, the result of his latest work done for the exhibition hall of the Hermitage of San Roque in Fuente Alamo, entitled "Thermae".

EXPOSURE AS AUTHOR

Throughout this exhibition consists of paintings of medium and large format technical in acrylic on canvas and wood, are easily transported to a world of reflections, lights, filtered and dense atmospheres that fill spaces mystery humanized by the presence of fleeting silhouettes define the true scale of the whole.

The exhibition ends with a neat collection of drawings and watercolors.

Underlying each work a subtle dialogue between man and water, so omnipresent timeless architecture converted unprecedented floods in the compositional element that defines the picture space.

Environments suggests almost converted into strange rooms empty water playing with the multiplier effect of reflection on its surface.

Sometimes these areas of water are meeting places for socialization where the man is not alone.

Dialogue spaces for relaxation and quiet, almost whispered, away from the bustle and noise.

The characters are not identified in their features, are anonymous silhouettes with which it is easier to identify in any of the scenarios in which they appear.

Each painting, while retaining the exhibition unit has its own entity and develop a search process within experimental poetics that define the work.

The drawing is subject to the dictates of color, a colored fluid, almost liquid flowing everywhere.

The light is not an uncontrolled light.

Is a filtered light, tamed, nuanced, a deliberately light also plays a fundamental role in the composition.

Is what causes the effects of the light and mystery that run throughout the work.

We study their behavior and their impact on different materials and surfaces: walls, columns, ponds and water basins, ... etc.

Here the light acquires a symbolic meaning: the search for the truth of reality, beyond the fleeting appearance of things around us and hide in the steamy atmosphere.

It is a mysterious journey through space environments that suggest intimacy and nostalgia-laden invite us to make a stop in our fast-paced and stressful lifestyle, to enjoy the corners of water, toilets and baths, where time stands still trapped between walls and vaults in a harmony of textures, lights and colors of relaxing effects, with people who enjoy an atmosphere of calm and serenity that seek to convey to contemplate, thus closing the circle of the same emotion that inspired the author's quiet at work.
