The director of the Instituto de Fomento Region de Murcia, Severiano Arias, announced today that next year will begin work on the new building that will house the Technology Center for Energy and the Environment, located in the Parque Tecnológico de Fuente Alamo.
The call for the drafting of the construction project, whose budget amounts to some 350,000 euros, has already been published in the Official Journal of the European Community.
The amount of the project is 80 percent financed by the European Union through FEDER funds.
The technical team being awarded the wording of the proposed work will have a four-month deadline for submission.
Once approved, the work will be bid whose execution time is expected within 18 months.

The Technology Center for Energy and Environment
The Technology Centre of Energy and the Environment is part of the Coordination Centre of Technological Centres in the Region of Murcia (Cecotec) who chairs the Institute of Development.
The center was established in 2000 and part of it a total of 55 companies whose total turnover amounted to 110 million euros, in which 900 people work.
The main priorities of this center are mainly the sustainable management of water resources and waste, environmental engineering and renewable energy.
Currently, the Technology Center for Energy and the Environment is working on projects for reuse of effluent from conventional treatments, the design of a microturbine for automated irrigation systems, the applicability of respirometric techniques to optimize biological treatment plant sludge Assets, energy audits of sewage treatment plants, environmental management systems and quality assurance in SMEs and the design and development of a modular water treatment station with membrane technology.
