The aim is to create a more sustainable work environment for the companies in the park
The Technology Park of Fuente Alamo, an initiative of the regional government, led by the Ministry of Industry, Enterprise and Innovation and Development Institute (Info), has added 30 sensor nodes that form a wireless network and allow for better environmental management facilities.
For the director of the Institute of Development, Juan Hernandez, is "a firm commitment to create greener urban and industrial environments and sustainable economic growth."
This system has been installed through the project 'Future Cloud' has developed the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT).
Through this technology it is possible to know, through an electronic device connected to the Internet in real-time all the data on atmospheric conditions (wind speed and direction, temperature and relative humidity, solar radiation and atmospheric pressure), water quality, and the levels of carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide in the air.
Juan Hernandez noted that "cities of the future are already here and have to adapt to new needs and demands," and added that "to have such an advanced wireless technology for environmental monitoring in the Technological Park of Fuente Alamo, where firmly believes in innovation and development, is a major advancement that will allow its users to know all the details of the environment in which they work. "
This action is directed to the creation of what is known as 'smart city' or 'smart city', seeking urban development based on sustainability and aims to attract more pleasant environment for people, serving different needs such as environmental, increasingly more people are interested.
Wireless technology allows access to information variables that were previously inaccessible because the equipment available on the market for the measurement were fixed and high cost.
Thus, the deployment carried out in the Park is a clear example that with a small investment can be achieved have easily installable, configurable and flexible equipment providing data to those users who want to know.

The Technology Park of Fuente Alamo continues growth phase.
It already has 34 companies of highly innovative and technological profile and is considered a strategic location in the region of Murcia, since most of those located companies share a strong commitment to innovation, development and technology.
Added value for these companies is the presence on campus of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) and the University of Murcia, which in turn generate new companies 'spin-off'.
