To celebrate Women's Day, there were two highlights of the day.
The first took place in the morning, with displays of handicrafts made by the Association of Women in Fuente Alamo, while the second, and perhaps one more participatory, was the dessert contest and pots, each year, is held in the Manuel de Falla.
The latter is one of the most anticipated of all the women of the town as it is, then, when better test their skills in the care of pots and deli making pastry.
In this edition involved a dozen plants and desserts as varied and original.
When setting the score, the jury of the Association of Women in Fuente Alamo, took into account the type of fertilizer and maintenance used in the case of the pot, and the taste and creativity when present the dish, for dessert.
Finally, it was the table of cake and cream and the cactus Mammillaria, the winners of the 2011 edition.
Eugenia, the award-winning baker, said he was flattered with the award because if it happens with something big "is drawing unusual candy," as the well presented to the contest a few years ago and was also awarded by the jury .
Maria del Pilar recognized, for its part, the secret to maintain its lush cactus thus is "singing to his pinchito every morning to make you happy."
