With the aim of becoming a meeting place for lovers of literature in the Region, the Department of Culture of the City of Fuente Álamo has organized the First Literary Contest 'Villa de Fuente Álamo.Memorial Juan Antonio Puertas', which still has Registration open until March 30.
"Fuente Álamo is characterized for being a municipality with a strong cultural tradition and we want to continue fostering it with the first edition of this contest," said Councilor for Culture, Juan Lorenzo Mendoza.
In this first edition, the modalities of short story and poetry are admitted.
In addition, you can participate with original works, unpublished, written in Castilian and that are not awarded in any other contest.
The prizes in each modality are: € 400 for the first ones;
€ 250 for the second and € 150 for the third.
Two prizes will also be awarded for local authors of € 250.
The contest was inspired by Juan Antonio Puertas Rodríguez, a resident of the town who died less than a year ago, but whose involvement as a veterinarian in the livestock sector and his passion for literature have left a broad memory.
The awards ceremony will be held on April 21, 2018, at 7:00 pm, at the facilities of the Fuente Alamo Museum, where the winning works will be made public.
