The City Council of Fuente lamo adheres to the demonstration organized by the Central Union of Irrigators of the Tajo-Segura Aqueduct (SCRATS) on March 7 in Madrid in the face of the severe drought in the Levante area.
In this way, the mayor of the municipality, Antonio Jesus Garcia Conesa, the first deputy mayor, Emilio Cabrera, and the Councilor for Public Services, Candela Lopez, will attend the rally in the capital on behalf of the entire municipal corporation, who supports to the agrarian collective and claims, together with SCRATS and the Community of Irrigators of Campo de Cartagena, a fair price for water and hydraulic infrastructures, as well as definitive solutions for the water deficit in the Levant.
They will travel in a bus chartered by the Community of Irrigators of Campo de Cartagena.
The horticultural production places Murcia, Alicante and Almeria at the head of the Spanish export of the sector and, in particular, is one of the main economic activities of the Campo de Cartagena, which has a highly technified agriculture to take advantage of every last drop of Water.
Therefore, the City Council of Fuente lamo urges all residents to attend the five-minute concentration that will take place at 12:00 in front of the Consistorial House.
