Fuente Álamo celebrates this weekend the traditional Cattle Fair, which this year reaches its thirteenth edition with an extensive and varied program of activities, which brings together the best of tradition with new trends.
Among the various leisure activities, there is the outdoor children's painting competition in the surroundings of the San Roque Hermitage, which this year celebrates its reopening as an exhibition hall, which currently has the exhibition 'Pictionary Island' Scored by Ángel Mateo Charris.
Rosa Peñalver, the mayor of Fuente Álamo, Antonio Jesús García Conesa, and the artist himself, were in charge of delivering the prizes to the children in the afternoon of yesterday.
XIII Livestock Fair
The inauguration of the XIII Livestock Fair took place last night, in charge of the Regional Assembly president, Rosa Peñalver, and the mayor of the municipality, Antonio Jesús García Conesa.
After an emotional tribute to the Cattlemen of the Year, Agustín García Izquierdo and Fina García Esparza, the president addressed a few words to the attendees.
In his speech, he pointed out that Fuente Álamo is "a cattle crib" and that "recovering the Fair was a great success, as it is today to reopen the Hermitage of San Roque as an exhibition hall.
The Fuente Álamo Livestock Fair is a must for cattle dealers from all over Spain, and a great opportunity to enjoy the programmed activities, and discover the character and strength of livestock activity.
Peñalver also congratulated the organizers because in this edition the tribute of Cattlemen of the Year has fallen on a couple, recognizing "the work of rural women, as important as that of their partner, whom he has equalized in the workload, responsibility and sacrifice".
