One of the initiatives of this plan is the celebration tomorrow of the International Car-Free Day with various actions such as the expansion of public transport services, the promotion of the use of bicycles, walking, limiting traffic by car or promoting the use of the Fuente Álamo Cartagena greenway.This day coincides with the end of the European Week of Sustainable Mobility, for which the Consistory has carried out various activities to sensitize the population of the need to use more sustainable means of transport, respectful of the environment and less polluting .All these actions, envisaged in its Master Plan ´Fuente Álamo sustainable villa´, aim, among others, to reduce the traffic of private vehicles, emissions of polluting gases into the atmosphere, improve air quality, reduce pollution ...
, therefore, the improvement of the quality of life of its inhabitants by reducing, among others, the traffic on the streets of the municipality.The city council has recently renovated part of its fleet of vehicles, replacing the oldest and polluting ones with 100% electric cars that do not emit greenhouse gases.
In addition, it has installed charging points in the municipality for electric vehicles.Sustainable villaFuente Álamo is the first and only municipality immersed in a Master Plan that has led it to design an ambitious strategy to involve the entire population, social agents, institutions, associations, companies ...
and achieve a 100% sustainable municipality. The project is articulated for five years and will take you to develop actions at a business, educational, social, neighborhood and institutional level in the town of Fuente Álamo.
In addition, it will be supported by the New Information and Communication Technologies, which will serve to interact between administrations and citizens, thus managing to turn small populations into Smart Citys that allow interaction and solution to the problems reported immediately by the users and help make Fuente Álamo a 100% Sustainable Village.
