Fuente Álamo starts tomorrow its festivities in honor of San Agustín with a program of parties with more than 70 activities for all ages, spread over ten days.
The main novelty of this year is the celebration of the I Gastronomic Fair, in Ronda Poniente, with tastings, 'show cooking', gourmet market, cocktail bar, concerts and DJs.
The festivities will begin at 9:00 p.m., with the lighting of the Gastronomic Fair, where the pre-chupinazo children will also be held with the performance of 'Sonrilandia'.
A batucada will make its way to the Town Hall square where, at 00:00 hours, the Chupinazo and Pregón will take place, in charge of the mayor, Juana María Martínez, and the Councilor of Festejos, Lorenzo Pérez.
The athlete Fuentealamero Mariano García, champion of Spain in 800 meters and four in the European Indoor Athletics Track, will be the Pregonero of Honor.
Thus, from August 23 to September 1, many events will be held, in which the tradition and customs typical of the area are combined with championships, competitions, parades and events for all ages, also for children, which You can enjoy inflatables, water sports and performances like 'The wonderful world of Drilo'.
Around half a hundred of rocks meet every year to also relive the tradition and customs typical of the area: the trovos, the XXXIX National Folklore Festival, the concentration of classic vehicles, or the parades of floats and parades, costumes.
This year, the 'rope-pull' contest between clubs will take place on the night of Saturday 24 to Sunday 25 August.
The Villa will live its big day on August 28, the feast of St. Augustine, patron who processes the streets of the town.
At night the musical that triumphs in Europe 'Remember Queen' World Tour 2019 will take place.
But this will not be the only scheduled musical performance, since throughout the holidays you can enjoy the show 'The Planet of the 90', with Paco Pil and the best music of that decade, as well as with the AlamoRock, the Fabrik Festival with DJ Raúl Ortiz, and the concert by Henry Méndez + Team Mati + Loca Latino, or the tribute to Siempre So de Desflamencados, among others.
The sport, with the Football Tournament, the 3x3 basketball, the caliche championship or the bike and motorcycle treadmills or the novelty of the First Summer Grand Prix also have their role in these parties, which will conclude at dawn from Sunday 1 to Monday 2 September with the traditional Traca de Fiesta de Fiestas.
The Councilor for Celebrations and Youth, Lorenzo Pérez, encouraged neighbors and visitors to "share good experiences at these parties, participating in the scheduled activities."
"Despite the shortage of time, we have tried to collect the greatest possible diversity of acts for the enjoyment of all ages," he said.
