The City of Fuente Alamo de Murcia denied today that the salary of the councilors has been raised, as well as being intervened by the Ministry of Finance, responding in this way to the statements made in a press release by the Vox municipal group.
The mayor of Fuente Álamo, Juana María Martínez, described as "false information" that in the last plenary session of the Corporation, held on July 29, it was agreed to increase the salaries of the mayor and the councilors.
In fact, the Mayor's proposal is lower than the remuneration of the previous Corporation, according to Intervention report;
even so, it was not approved, so that no member of the government team is being paid for the work he is doing, Martínez explained, who nevertheless focused his criticism on the fact that Vox affirms that the City Council is intervened by the ministry.
"The remuneration is false, but it is not the most serious of what Vox said, since accusing the Municipality of Fuente Alamo of being intervened, playing with its prestige as an institution, is something inadmissible and on which they must retract Immediately".
The mayor said that the 2018 settlement offers a surplus and meets the criteria of budgetary stability, spending rule and debt limit.
Therefore, he stressed, "there is no reason to intervene, nor has the ministry sent any requirements in this regard."
Finally, Martínez assured that the Municipal Corporation "will continue working on the improvement of Fuente Álamo, a municipality with great possibilities for growth and development, based on the collaboration in positive."
Therefore, he urged Vox to "withdraw its claims and overcome its policy of destruction against everything that implies progress and well-being for the citizens of Fuente Alamo."
