The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia has developed the operation 'Zenda', an investigation focused on clarifying a high number of robberies with violence committed in Fuente lamo, which has resulted in the dismantling of a criminal group composed of twelve young people from the locality, to which they are attributed, so far, the alleged authorship of about twenty robberies.
The proceedings began at the beginning of the year, when the Civil Guard detected an increase in robberies with violence and intimidation committed against pedestrians in Fuente lamo, facts that had caused some social alarm among the population.
In order to clarify the facts and detain their authors, the Benemrita carried out a series of investigations that allowed us to verify that after the robberies investigated there was a group of young people, based in Fuente lamo and acting in coordination.
The majority of criminal acts materialized during the night / early morning in little-traveled streets of the town.
The victims were observed by the authors until they were alone and in isolated areas.
Once the viability of the robbery was determined, the group assaulted the victims by surprise, threw them to the ground and beat them while one of the perpetrators stole the effects they carried, usually the mobile phone and the cash it carried at that time, so Like other personal effects of value.
During the robberies, the authors did not hesitate to use intimidation or violence to achieve their objective, having detected that several victims suffered injuries during the commission of the robbery and that their aggressiveness was increasing in recent events, sometimes producing , injuries with a knife.
As a result of the investigation, the civil guards identified the twelve members of the criminal group and, once all the necessary evidence was obtained, they established a search device that has culminated in the last days with their location and detention as alleged perpetrators of theft with violence and intimidation, injuries and belonging to a criminal group.
During the development of the operation, the entry and registration of five buildings in which a large number of mobile phones and other effects allegedly used for the commission of thefts have been seized.
Some of them have already been returned to their rightful owners and others have been deposited in police units waiting to be identified by their owners.
