The exhibition hall 'Jos Hernndez' of Fuente lamo will host from tomorrow, Thursday, March 28, until April 7, the exhibition 'Isaac Peral, a universal sailor', dedicated to this soldier born in Cartagena (Murcia), which occupies a place of honor in Universal History as the inventor of the submarine.
The exhibition, which has more than 150 objects closely related to Peral or its submersible, is supported by the private collection of Diego Quevedo, collector and researcher of Isaac Peral and his work, with whom he shares his Cartagena origin and his belonging to the Navy. Spanish.
The Diego Quevedo is considered one of the best private collections on Isaac Peral, and collects many of the commemorative objects that were marketed in Spain when the invention was announced, which aroused a wave of citizen enthusiasm.
Thus, you can see chromos, musical scores composed in honor of the inventor, press of the time, movie and theater scripts, and even the design of a 50 pesetas bill with the effigy of Peral, which finally the Bank of Spain did not get put into circulation.
It will also show original photos of the submarine and its creator, manuscripts or posters of the time.
The inauguration will take place at 8.30 pm, in the 'Jos Hernndez' exhibition hall, and will be attended by the mayor, Antonio Jess Garca Conesa.
