The relationship of nature with the human being is the basis of the unpublished exhibition 'Pieles', by the artist Cristóbal Gabarrón, whose world premiere will take place at the Ermita de San Roque of Fuente Álamo tomorrow, Saturday, March 9, at 8:00 p.m. , in an act that will be attended by the mayor, Antonio Jesús García Conesa.
The sample consists of more than fifty works, created in three dimensions, from organic elements, whose base is the woody stem of a palm leaf rescued by the artist.
It will be open to the public until May 5, from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. from Thursday to Saturday, and from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
The curator of the exhibition, Juan García Sandoval, pointed out that the artistic discourse of Cristóbal Gabarrón "makes us reconsider about the forms and uses of skins (of the planet) and of the hierarchy of current values in the relationship with nature, where The artist places the human being at the center, as a colonizer, devastating natural resources, and invites us to face the present with his symbolic art, experiencing the link with the land, the past and memory ".
On the other hand, the Councilor for Education, Culture and the Environment, Juan Lorenzo Mendoza Martínez, considered that "calm work, well done, with hard work and dedication, always pays off".
"Cristóbal Gabarrón's exhibition this spring at Fuente Álamo has a lot of this, of some excellent steps taken in previous years to be able to walk a path that will take us to places like this," he added.
Also, Mendoza stressed that the delivery of the Brush of the Year 2018 to Gabarrón "meant the continuity of linking great artists to our flagship, such as the International Painting Contest Villa de Fuente Álamo, adding to names like Pedro Cano, Pepe Hernández, Ángel Mateo Charris or Concha Martínez Barreto ".
Cristóbal Gabarrón (Mula, 1945) is an artist of international prestige, among whose works are the mural for the Olympic Games of Barcelona 92 and the mural 'Encuentro 92', for the Universal Exposition of Seville (1992), the great sculptural project 'Atlanta Star' (1996), the performance of the play 'Hope for Peace' (1986) as the official poster of the summit, or the 'Millennium Chapel' (2000-2001).
