The municipality of Fuente lamo wants to have an Integral Security Center that houses the Civil Guard, the Local Police, Civil Protection and a fire station, for which it already has some land on the outskirts of the town, in an area that It enjoys good communication by road, so that it can provide an agile and effective coverage.
This was moved by the mayor of Fuente Alamo, Antonio Jesus Garcia Conesa, during the Local Safety Board, which was chaired by the delegate of the Government in the Region of Murcia, Diego Conesa, and was assisted by the Director General of Public Safety and Emergencies of the regional government, Jos Ramn Carrasco, as well as the colonel chief of the Civil Guard and the head of the Local Police.
Precisely, the mayor visited, before the meeting and accompanied by the Government delegate, the barracks of the Civil Guard, whose facilities have been small to provide the service and are "obsolete", in addition to significant shortcomings in the residential area , which has not received any investments for 40 years.
Garcia Conesa also recalled that the municipality lacks a fire station, which last year caused several "difficult" situations, when several fires were declared whose response times exceeded 30 minutes, a figure "above the regional average and of desirable average times. "
Likewise, the facilities of the Local Police need to grow to provide a better citizen service.
Therefore, the mayor stressed that an Integrated Security Center would respond to this situation, remembering that a few years ago they reserved land for a similar project.
In this regard, he explained that it would be "resize" the project, incorporating an annexed area that would have to cede the Directorate General of Roads, and that could house this complex of security and emergencies, in addition to housing for civil guards.
To this end, the three local, regional and national administrations would have to work together, so that the project can take shape and move forward.
For now, the first step of offering the land has already taken place, so "now it's time to structure the project and coordinate so that it can be a reality".
In this regard, Garca Conesa stressed that the planned location "enjoys very good communication, both with the town and with the rest of the municipality, including Hacienda del lamo and the airport," he concluded.
