The Minister of Family and Equal Opportunities, Violante Tomás, and the mayor of Fuente Álamo, Antonio Jesús García, today signed an agreement for arranging 16 places in the municipal residence, for which the Community will contribute about 400.00 euros to the September 30, 2020.
The residence of elderly people 'San Agustín', located in the center of Fuente Álamo, has a total of 24 authorized places of residence, among which these 16 places have been hired.
It has spacious and bright rooms, as well as a large garden area.
The Ministry of Family and Equal Opportunities, through the IMAS, already had a total of 28 places arranged for adults in this town in the residence 'Valle de las Palas'.
The counselor explained that "to this we add the five centers of day center in which we are working so that the elderly of Fuente Álamo are in the best conditions and, in addition, there are 29 users of the tele-assistance service".
Violante Tomás added that "the expansion of places for the elderly is one of the commitments of the regional government, which has led us this year to increase the budget of the Ministry for elderly care by more than 11 million euros."
The arranged residences are open gerontological centers of professional sociosanitary attention that can be in regime of temporary stay or of permanent stay and they are directed to older people with some degree of dependency.
