More than fifty residents of the municipality form the new Civil Protection group Fuente lamo, which delivered the diplomas and badges to the first twenty volunteers who completed their training last week.
Due to the large influx, Civil Protection Fuente lamo had to divide the enrolled into two groups to ensure a thorough and complete learning of all of them.
The coordinator of Civil Protection Fuente lamo, Mara Snchez, acknowledged that "it is hard to believe that before a totally altruistic service such as volunteering for Civil Protection, acceptance by the people and the will has been so remarkable".
After holding the first information meeting in September of last year, many were interested in belonging to a service "for the safety of their neighbors, which will have available their volunteers and their means to any natural disaster, events or festivities, among others, "commented Snchez.
Throughout the month of March, the neighbors of the first group began their training with a theoretical and practical exam that trains them in Life Support and First Aid.
In turn, they received a course taught by the Local Police of Fuente lamo on 'Orders and Signs of Traffic Agents'.
On the other hand, Civil Protection Torre Pacheco also collaborated in the process.
"Initiatives like this show the commitment of the neighbors with the municipality and is something that, from the City Council, we have to thank, because without their solidarity and effort Civil Protection would not be a reality," said the mayor of the City of Fuente lamo, Antonio Jess Garca Conesa.
As Sanchez remarked, "the volunteers will find themselves in continuous training" which they will complete with courses on 'Public Access to Debriefing', fires, torrential rains and various catastrophes.
Thus, Civil Protection will begin to inform soon the rest of the applicants who are pending to start their teaching and become active members of the group.
