The Innovation Center is a year UPCT in Fuente Alamo Park with the installation of 14 technology companies (03/02/2013)

The Centre for Development and Innovation (CEDIT) of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena celebrates its first anniversary with a total of 14 incumbents, 11 research groups and five new patents.

This facility was inaugurated in February 2012 by the Minister for Universities and Research Company, José Ballesta.

The center, located in the Technology Park of Fuente Alamo, has become an ideal space for R & D groups of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) collaborate with companies in developing projects, and serve as an incubator for the creation of new innovative technology-based or created by researchers.

In its facilities, and in collaboration with the Technology Park, are also conducted numerous scientific outreach and training activities with enterprises.

Of the total 14 companies currently linked to CEDIT, 12 have been built up over the year 2012.

These were Throws, Cloud Hub Incubator, Ingeniatic, Radiatio Engineering, Sidcom, Garsa, Appopulus, BrainGapps, Buy Activa, Onairos app's, and My Legend Entertainment Widhoc latter currently located outside the center.

During this first year of the center have also registered five new patents related primarily to mobile and are developing five projects 'Innplanta' that have received funding from the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness worth 1.756 million euros , funds managed through the Parque Tecnológico de Fuente Alamo.

Also, the CEDIT hosts a total of 11 research groups focusing on telematics engineering projects, RF, microwave, and industrial and agricultural chemicals, among others.

Among the projects 'Innplanta', the CEO of Universities and Scientific Policy, Eduardo Osuna, highlighted the Show-industrial process heating and drying of materials with microwave and radio frequency technology, which is "a pioneering project in Spain that allows manufacturers to evaluate the processing of all types of materials. "

The Centre for Development and Innovation, which aims to develop exploration and technological exchange, has five laboratories heavy, twenty Labs R & D + i, computer server rooms, offices, meeting rooms and an auditorium .

Since its inception it has expanded its services and has added three new facilities to service users and UPCT center: a living immersion in virtual reality, a GPS antenna reference location and a garage-electronic aids research.

The Technology Park

Meanwhile, the Technology Park of Fuente Alamo during growth continues as shown by the increase of companies that are being installed in it.

Currently, 33 companies have already tagging innovative and technological profile, twelve more than in early 2012.

The park is considered a strategic location in the region of Murcia, where many of the companies located share a strong commitment to innovation and technology development.

The Alamo Source Technology Park is an initiative of the regional government, guided by the Counseling and Development Institute (INFO), framed on the lines of development of the Science and Technology.

This park is critical to the performance of the European strategy 2020, where the smart, sustainable and inclusive constitutes a strategic objective throughout the community space.
