The City Council of Fuente lamo takes another step to ensure that the time of arrival of firefighters to the municipality is less.
The mayor, Antonio Jess Garca Conesa, and the councilor for Security, Emilio Cabrera, met this morning with the general director of Citizen Security and Emergencies, Jos Ramn Carrasco, and the manager of the Consortium for Fire and Rescue Extinction of the Region Murcia, Alfonso Ramn Garca, to transfer the need to enable a firefighting stop that serves the town.
At the meeting, the mayor has offered to cede the facilities that were necessary, as well as their proper adaptation.
The maximum time of arrival to the municipality exceeds 30 minutes, an interval that is excessive in emergencies such as those suffered by the town a few weeks ago, with two fires in just a few hours.
However, the response to the request has been negative on the part of the general Directorate of Citizen Security and Emergencies, alleging that the staff of firefighters is scarce and, currently, there is no possibility of allocating any cash to Fuente lamo.
In this way, the municipality continues to depend on the fire stations of Alhama-Totana, Mazarrn or Los Alczares.
Meanwhile, the City Council will maintain the request and the mayor asks that "the next increase in staff be allocated to Fuente lamo, since it would also cover the districts of the bordering municipalities."
