Citizens have seen approved their proposal to implement a crash plan to eliminate asbestos from schools and public buildings in the municipality.
The actions of this plan, elaborated following the instructions of the municipal architect, were approved in the last Plenary through a motion of the municipal group and will start with a technical inspection of the municipal buildings in charge of a company registered in the RERA Companies with Risk of Asbestos).
"In this way, each building and school will soon have an identification card and the inspection will serve to evaluate potential risks and recommend the most appropriate actions according to the results," said the spokesman of the municipal group, Jose Antonio Oliver.
"The most urgent now is to evaluate the possible current risk derived from asbestos already installed, as well as that which can be found in the form of waste, especially in schools facing the beginning of the course.
We have in the municipality different municipal buildings with many years of antiquity that can contain this material, and what we have achieved is that a census of them is made to act ", adds Oliver.
The aforementioned Census of Municipal Buildings affected by asbestos will detail the results obtained, the measures to be adopted and the budget for the execution of works for their elimination.
