The planting of this native species, on the occasion of the World Day for the Reduction of CO2, will be carried out in Marjal de Gracia de La Pinilla (Fuente Alamo) and will allow to absorb about 67 tons of CO2 in its first 20 years of life.
This type of Mediterranean forest helps the good maintenance of the soil preventing it from degrading and eroding with the drag produced by the rains, in addition to serving as a refuge for all wildlife.
The day dedicated to environmental education is intended for all audiences and has workshops on sustainable development, recycling puppets, a sustainable mobility circuit, the energy efficiency gymnast and even an Eco Goose, among many other things.
The Sustainable Villa Master Plan of Fuente lamo has started with the first activities and is already a reference in the Region of Murcia for its convening power and its ability to involve all the social agents of the municipality.
Children, adolescents, parents, grandparents and neighbors throughout the municipality have enjoyed a full day of activities organized by Marevents Global Communication, a company specialized in the development of environmental and CSR projects, and the City of Fuente lamo with the support of Government of the Region of Murcia.
All these actions, which will culminate this afternoon with the creation of a pioneer CO2 sink of Carrascos pines in the hamlet of La Pinilla, are backed by sustainable certificates after the rigorous monitoring carried out by MarEco, a subsidiary brand of Marevents that has designed, organized and developed this action minimizing the potential negative environmental impacts and leaving a beneficial legacy for the inhabitants of Fuente lamo.
At the edge of 9.30 am, the Poniente de Fuente Alamo Round has become the place of concentration and the epicenter of environmental education in the region with the development of fun activities for all audiences.
Attendees of the day have been able to participate in sustainable development workshops, recycling puppets, a sustainable mobility circuit, a gymnastic energy efficiency and responsible consumption, and even a giant Eco Oca.
Different games and workshops backed by monitors and different animated characters such as "The Recyclers", five superheroes called Lataplast, Mr. Papel Cartons, Organic, Vidriolita and Zamparrestos.
Characters that will be present as the driving axis of the project in all awareness and sustainability actions developed by the Master Plan at the educational level.
Already in the afternoon at 16.30, and to commemorate the World Day for the Reduction of CO2 Emissions, free buses have been enabled to move participants to the Marjal de Gracia de La Pinilla (Fuente Alamo) where it is going to take place a massive plantation of carrasco pine.
This crop will be a milestone in the history of Fuente lamo by becoming the first CO2 sink of the municipality and the area.
And it is that at the turn of 20 years, age at which they reach maturity, these pines will have absorbed about 67 tons of CO2.
The positive incidence of this pine plantation in the environment of the municipality also includes improving the permeability of the soil, preventing it from degrading and being eroded by the episodes of dragging by torrential rains, in addition to serving as a refuge for the fauna of the area.
A day that has been a success of participation.
This was highlighted by the Councilor for Transparency and Citizen Participation, Environment and New Technologies, Mauricio Cnovas, who also wanted to personally thank the attendees for their involvement with the municipality's environment: “everyone has turned to the Plan Sustainable Villa Director of Fuente lamo, and that is the objective and the success that will lead us to leave a better municipality for the youngest ”.
Which has highlighted the work of the educational centers of the municipality, which have turned to the activities developed today and have already included in their educational programming the successive days.
It should be remembered that the Sustainable Villa Master Plan of Fuente lamo has an exclusive line of work dedicated to children and young people because of the importance that this public has to be the citizens who will live in the future the actions that are developed in the present.
Both the plantation of pine trees Carrascos and the day of environmental education has also had a large representation of adult public.
And since its presentation, if this sophisticated project has been characterized by something that has aroused the interest of several municipalities and the Ministry of Water Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Environment, it is to have a great human support of society Fuentealamera at all levels.
From institutions, companies, neighbors and to all the educational centers of Fuente lamo.
Something that has been possible thanks to the innovative and ambitious planning of sustainable development activities that will take place during all months of the year 2020.
With this release of the first activities of the Master Plan, the aim is to increase the reach and social awareness to involve all the social agents and neighbors of Fuente lamo and neighboring towns to achieve better environments.
Main objectives of the Fuentealamero municipality to be the First Sustainable Villa of Spain and export the model to other cities.
