Murcia artist Pedro Cano takes the painting to the Rural Schools of Fuente Álamo (24/10/2018)

The children of the Rural Schools of Fuente Álamo, specifically Los Almagros and Los Cánovas, have learned for two days the secrets and techniques of painting with watercolors by the renowned Murcian painter Pedro Cano.

The artist, who actively collaborates with the Municipal Museum of Fuente Álamo and was named Brush of the Year in 2014, has wanted to surround himself with the benjamines of the municipality to enjoy art.

Through different games, Cano has shared his long experience in painting with the students, who have been happy to have him in his school and have asked him to "come many more days".

"Big things are not done in large places, but anywhere," said Cano, who has stressed the importance of bringing culture to smaller towns so that "everyone has access to it."

During his visit for the third year in a row, the artist has also given painting workshops in the Municipal Museum of Fuente Álamo, where young people have drawn different types of bread - donated by the local bakery San Ramón - and the tower of the Church of San Augustine, following the instructions of the painter.

Cano highlighted the City Council's willingness to promote culture among the youngest children and encouraged them to continue promoting this type of activity.

Finally, the mayor, Antonio Jesús García Conesa, and the Councilor for Education and Culture, Juan Lorenzo Mendoza, distributed the diplomas to the participating children and thanked Pedro Cano for his work with the students of the Villa.
